Legal and Compliance Officer
Type: Fixed-Term Contract for 6 months
Location: UK Remote
Salary Range from: £29,830
We have an new 6-month opportunity to join the Legal and Compliance team, working closely with the Compliance Manager you will have the opportunity to work across the organisation, and ensure that the business meets all its compliance obligations.
The difference you’ll make:
As part of a small, close knit team you will work on updating current guidelines and best practices across all areas in which we operate, this will involve managing the process of drafting, issuing and renewing contracts covering clients, suppliers and partners. This is a varied role in which you will manage client, supplier, and partner queries in relation to contracts, and also liaise with external consultants, legal team and Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) for all business and product compliance matters.
Who we’re looking for, Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Day to day management of contracts across clients, suppliers, and partners
- Preparation and management of contract templates, addendums and frequently asked questions to assist the sales and commercials teams in the winning of new business and onboarding of new partners and suppliers
- First point of contact across the business and for any contract, legal or compliance related queries coming from clients, partners, suppliers or the team
- Responsible for maintaining and evolving company's FCA and tax compliance monitoring programme in consultation with senior management team
- Maintaining and monitoring the company's policy and procedural documentation for FCA compliance including staff training documentation
- Maintaining and monitoring the company's policy and procedural documentation for tax compliance including staff training documentation
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to support and ensure salary sacrifice arrangements are submitted to HMRC for comment regarding compliance after a salary sacrifice scheme has been implemented
- Work with HR function and consultants to ensure all employee contracts and amendments are completed correctly
- Work with the tender and sales teams to ensure all client queries are answered quickly and correctly including attending meetings and calls where required
- Grow and maintain an up to date working knowledge of key legislations that impact our business
A bit about you, skills and experience:
- Educated to A' Level standard and above
- Experience of working in compliance, and confident reviewing and advising on contractual documentation
- Experience of working with regulatory bodies such as the FCA
- Strong written and grammatical skills with keen eye for detail
- Ability to work on own initiative and provide solutions
- Highly organised and flexible to competing demands
- Ability to multitask and work to deadlines, with excellent attention to detail
- Forward planning and developing new processes
- Excellent communication skills both written and spoken
- Computer literate – particularly Microsoft Word (full training on the in house/bespoke systems provided)
